How Does Howard Know Fraud?

I’m not a journalist. I’m a fraud investigator. I spent 15 years in law enforcement investigating and arresting criminals. Now I spend most of my days as a bank investigator working to identify those who would steal your information and then your money at one of the biggest banks in the United States.

The fraud is rampant and unstoppable. The amount of fraud that occurs on a bank on any given day would blow you away. The fraudsters are constantly evolving and adapting to the new technology and practices the banks and their investigators deploy. As soon as we catch on to one scheme, a new one is draining customers’ accounts. It is a constant game of catch-up.

The good news is that a large amount of fraud could be avoided, but probably not the way you think. However (as is the case in almost everything) if you educate yourself on what is going on, you are more likely to be able to protect yourself and your assets.

And that is why I have created this blog. My money is in a bank too. Let me teach you how to keep it safe by educating you on the most current and most successful scams and schemes out there with real world examples of how this occurs and how people fall victim. As GI Joe used to tell me after every episode, “the more you know…”
